Benefits for students

Economies around the world are increasingly interdependent and ever globalized. The language industry is rapidly growing as more content and user interface—from smart home appliances to streaming video service, from website content to all manners of interpersonal communication. This Program will help students jumpstart or fast-track their career and get on the globalization fast lane.

  • A practical certificate program that is highly marketable because it is relevant to the needs to the industry and highly connected to the industry.
  • Students will learn leading tools, products, and technologies in the translation/localization industry.
  • Most translation degree programs are training students to be translators and interpreters, not project managers or localization engineers.
  • Graduate degree programs take a minimum of 1 to 2-year of fulltime study, costing US$30,000 to $50,000 to complete. The certificate program, by contrast, offers a compelling alternative from a financial and time investment standpoint for the students.

Through the partnership with GoAP and Treehouse Strategy, the Program is unique and distinct from others because it is designed in close association with industry partners. The technology and tools we teach are the latest, most cutting-edge tools. The translation and localization management processes we impart are the same processes in use by the private sector today.

There are very few degree or certificate programs in the United States that train professionals and students on the complexities and nuances of managing language industry projects. Employers in the language industry are eager to see a pipeline of professionally trained and technologically savvy talent in the labor pool.
